Does A Red Wig Go With A Raggedy Andy Costume

I am going to my next fancy dress party in a Raggedy Andy costume but there is a small problem – apparently raggedy andy normally dresses in a bright red wig and I am not sure this will go well with my pale face and freckles. Maybe I will change things up a little bit and try out a blond wig. My friend told me the other day that this would ruin the authentic look of the costume though and so now I am in a quandry – wear the red wig and look silly or wear a blond one?
