Since 1983, Waterfowl USA has worked diligently to accomplish our mission of "waterfowl conservation, youth education, and wetland habitat preservation." Waterfowl USA works nationally to preserve wetland habitat and to conserve our waterfowl resources.
The Waterfowl USA Endowment Fund has been established to ensure the growth and progress of Waterfowl USA's efforts to restore, enhance, and preserve the wetland habitat and waterfowl resources within the United States. At the January 2002 meeting of the Waterfowl USA Board of Directors, by unanimous decision, the Waterfowl USA Endowment Fund was established to provide the necessary funding to sustain the organization in perpetuity. The Board realizes that it is our responsibility to ensure that the necessary financial resources are always available to provide for Waterfowl USA to continue its mission.
By donating to the Waterfowl USA Endowment Fund, you can be confident you've played a vital role in advancing the cause of waterfowl conservation and supporting our mission. All donations to this Endowment Fund are placed in conservative investments. Ultimately, only a portion of the income will be used to fund our efforts each year. This ensures your donation remains in the fund to generate the income necessary for future years. This is the best way to preserve our wetland habitat and waterfowl resources so they can be enjoyed by future generations.
We encourage all conservationists, sportsmen, and outdoorsmen to examine the options available to leave a legacy that ensures tomorrow's children enjoy the benefits from our natural resources that we have enjoyed during our lifetime. Interested individuals, groups, or corporations have several donation options available to make supporting this Endowment Fund as affordable and convenient as possible. Donors can contribute cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, life insurance policies, bequests, trusts, or even automobiles to one or more of several Funds.
- Waterfowl USA's General Operating Fund:
The General Operating Fund is used to provide operating expenses for Waterfowl USA's membership, chapter development, public information, and administrative departments. This fund is the most important to our day-to-day operations and conservation programs.
- Waterfowl USA's Unrestricted Endowment Fund:
The WUSA Endowment Fund is an unrestricted fund, designed to ensure the financial stability of the organization. Ultimately, only a percentage of the earnings from the Fund will be spent annually, as determined by the Fund's Board of Trustees.

- Establish a personalized Endowment Fund in the name of a loved one or even in your own name.
A personalized Endowment Fund can be established with an initial gift of $10,000 or more. This can be done through an irrevocable gift of cash, stock, bonds, real estate, life insurance, or any of our other giving options. In establishing a personalized Endowment Fund, it is the donor's decision to determine the name of the Fund, as well as how the annual income will be distributed. After a donor has made a gift to establish a personalized Endowment Fund, a resolution is prepared for the next Board of Trustees meeting for formal approval of the name of the Fund and the designation of its annual income.
