The first step is to choose your fabric, or if you’re on a budget you can choose two sheets. The sheets need to match the size of your futon mattress. Wash and dry the sheets on the hottest possible settings. Doing so will get the sheets clean and ready for use while ensuring that the sheets will not shrink once the cover is made.
Sew both short edges and one long edge together. This will leave only one edge unsewn, and this is where you attach the Velcro. Sew the Velcro on the remaining edge and you’re ready to place the cover on your mattress.
