There are different kinds of sinus surgery that a person who is planning to have such surgery can choose to undergo. The first kind is what is known as FESS or functional endoscopic sinus surgery. The FESS is the most common type of sinus surgery done to treat recurrent sinus infection. FESS is a less invasive way to perform a sinus surgery as it no longer requires cutting through the flesh and bones and performing some stitches.

The traditional method of surgery can be done to remove pus build up in the sinuses occurs or when there is already an infection in the facial bones. The traditional method is also performed if there is already the occurrence of brain abscess.
