Utilise a hose to scrub all of the loose mud and dust first, if the wheel has any mud, dust or tar on the wheel, spray the dry wheel with a high quality non caustic Alloy Wheel Cleaner. Let the cleaner sit on the wheel for a bit. Wash off the wheel cleaner, direct the spray toward the ground to keep the loosened wheel mud from becoming caught behind the spokes or splashing on to the remainder of the auto. Utilize a delicate hose to wash, hi-pressure jets will also cause the remainder of the auto to get covered.
